Technichal Difficulties

It has come to our attention that the show did not air properly during today's broadcasts for 5th and 6th periods. We belive this was due to some technical difficulties involving the disk. The disk was damaged and skipped parts of songs and whole songs. From now on we plan to have a backup copy of the disk to prevent these issues from happening again. Thank you for your understanding

Updated-

We have discovered the problem with the show airings and are currently fixing it.

These labels are the artists from the last show.

Our next show

We are planning to air our first full lunch show on Wednesday, October 20th during all lunches. We will have our new playlist up by late-Thursday, so keep posted. Our first full show will consist of Magruder news (What's Goin' On At Magruder, if you remember) and a short sports clippet. Also, keep your eyes open for a Radio Magruder Reporter at the next home games, because we will be there.

Thoughts

Ok, i got the new layout set up... Here are some thoughts on the pages though...

Comments Comments Comments could probably be removed, it's kinda redundant since there is an obvious comment button on each post, and those comments will at least be linked to the topic they are commenting on.

Members only should be removed, since we can use the facebook group for that, and there is no way to make the posts secure...

Again, Roles is kinda un-needed. Not only does the public REALLY not need that information, but we can also keep track of that by assigning officers on the facebook group.

Requests is a definite keeper, I posted a minor change to it, that we would keep posted requests visible until they are played (Maybe change to until they are cued to play for this weeks show?).

How to Join should be okay, although I don't see much of a reason to keep it since there are mentions of that on the main page, but then again some people need the obvious link that explains that and only that, seeing as some people can be incredibly thick...

The main reason I am suggesting to remove these pages is because they are redundant or unnessicary... Most people may get rather confused at how many sites there are and not really see or go to where they mean to go... Trust me, some of this stuff that should be obvious to most is stuff that they can't seem to figure out on their own...

Listeners' Favorite!

We are starting a new feature where YOU get to pick the music. Tell us what your favorite song from the previous show was, and we will play it again in an upcoming show. Look for people asking for your favorite music and your opinions on currently playing music. Both during your lunch and here on the website. Each week we will select the most voted for songs to play during a future show.

Idea for some Listener control

The "Student Favorite" On the website we make a weekly poll that has all the songs we played that week and we;
(A)
Ask the students to select the songs that they like (Must use multiple answers) from the show. This way we can get a feel of what kinds of songs listeners want to hear...

OR

(B)
Ask teh students to select only their favorite song (One answer) from the show. This way it is less likely that a tie for a song will occour, but we will get less of an idea of what songs people want to hear...

Then (From A or B) each show we play the last show's most voted for song, giving the listeners some more control over the songs that we play. What do you guys think?

Test for Artist/Song Counter

Testing counter for music/artist traking. Here's my Idea on how this will work:

As a part of the post asking for opinons on our last show, all of the songs and artists will be added as tags, the songs will be in quotes to differentiate from artists, and the song/artist will be diffrent tag. Then at the bottom of the screen is a count of how many times each of these shows up! Easy peasy. And then people can see our overall spread of music types. Hopefully this will help generate intrest in the site, and help people to be more intrested in commenting.

Test

This is a test post to test the layout and design of the real one, because this is not the real one, it's only a test "blog"... They really aren't blogs either, more like a stream of announcemnents from our group to the public...

Voting

If you are going to post "bad" for our poll, please comment on why you thought it was bad on the "comments comments comments" page. If we don't know what is bad about it, then we can't fix it.

When will you hear us next?

Our plan is to start playing every other Wed. during all lunches. Also, we will have shows online, soon, so send in ideas for shows, and also suggestions for the music you want to hear.

Our next meeting

Our next meeting will be on Wed. October 6th after school in B232. Even if it is not mentioned on the MVP Morning show, we will still be meeting, unless otherwise stated. New members are always welcome.

What did you think?

We want to know what you though about our first show. Give you comments about the show by commenting on the post of the "comments comments comments" page. If your vote is other the "excellent" in our poll, please write why you though so, because we can't improve upon something if we don't know about it. Also, give us suggestions of songs that you want to hear. Go to the "requests" page and comment on any (appropriate) song that you want to hear. Remember, all comments will be moderated before they are visible online.
